Amanda Griffin

Advanced & Pre-Advanced, Hip Hop Instructor

Amanda has had a long history with the Metta Rose Dance Academy. She started with the academy in 1995 at the age of 7. Throughout the years she started attending as many classes as possible, by her senior year and final show in 2006, she performed in seven different styles of dance including classical tap, street tap, ballet, lyrical, pointe, jazz, and hip hop. She was unable to stay away for long and after graduation made the commute from college weekly to attend classes in 2007 and 2008, and was in the lyrical and tap numbers for the 2008 production. She has since made herself available to be back stage and perform in alumni performances every year since and became the hip hop instructor full time in 2015.

She attended Baldwin Wallace College from 2006-2010 where she made the Baldwin’s Wallace Dance Team all four years. She helped choreograph routines and her team performed at half time for a Cavaliers basketball game. Along with the dance team, she was a lead choreographer for a jazz piece and performer in jazz and contemporary pieces in multiple annual Baldwin Wallace Dance Concert performances.
Amanda has a passion for teaching and for dancing. It has been always been a part of her life and is so happy to get to share her talents and passion with her alma mater, The Metta Rose Dance Academy, now as an instructor. She feels very blessed to be back to what feels like home and hope she can use her energy and passion to inspire the students just like Metta has inspired her.

Why makes the Metta Rose Dance Academy different?

Miss Metta’s philosophy for dance education is unique because she looks to not only teach students dance skills, but to instill confidence through dance into all aspects of life. The studio’s environment is family-oriented and often becomes like a second home to her students.

Miss Metta teaches dance through positive reinforcement, nurturing and support – she does not teach as a drill sergeant. Your child will have fun and look forward to dance class!
